Gah, don't even ask me what's up with that second picture. I guess the rule was feeling a little bloated. It's all water retention, though. It'll pass.
A really nice little pocket slide rule. It's too bad the slide's warped and it's missing the cursor. It's pretty similar to the K&E 4031, even down to the missing cursor, but it's a little thinner and made of a different wood (i think i've heard the wood called "pearwood", but i've no idea where that comes from). The fastening screws on the front are a nice touch. Shame about the cursor, though. This came in a little slipcase that says "ELGIN STEEL KITCHEN CABINETS/Elgin Stove & Oven Company, Elgin, Illinois", but i'm pretty sure that's not original. This looks like an older Faber rule, and it says "Made In Germany" under the slide. But what do i know?
